First you must decide whether you want an External or Internal Battery Model and whether you want a Lithium or Sealed Lead Acid ('SLA') battery:
External Battery Model vs. Internal Battery Model
- Machine is lighter at 40 lbs vs 54 lbs for SLA
- Only the battery needs to be brought in to charge. You can leave the machine in the car vs bring machine to an outlet. This may not be an advantage if you own your own court or walk to one. Also, some may like everything in one unit regardless of the heavier weight.
- Eventual battery replacement takes 5 min vs 60 min
Note: An External Battery Model can be converted to an Internal Battery Model by the user with our video instructions in about 45 minutes (all you need is screwdriver & small wrench or 7mm socket driver). To convert an Internal Battery Model to an External Battery Model the 'External Battery Pack Upgrade without Battery' (see 'Parts' link above) must be purchased first.
Lithium Battery Model Advantages Over SLA Battery Model:
- Running time: 3.5-8.5 hrs vs 3-8 hrs.
- Battery weight: 7lb vs 14lb
- Fast 5-Hr Fast Lithium Charger included vs 11-Hr SLA Standard Charger
- 2000+ charge/discharge cycles vs 500
- Battery warranty matches the standard 2-yr or optional 5-yr machine warranty vs 6 months for SLA in both cases
- Being left uncharged does not cause battery issues vs need to keep charged
- Voltage does not drop during use so top speed is maintained vs drops a bit
